Review before deployment.
AI-generated configurations and scripts require qualified review and testing. Check compatibility with your installed versions and read the Important Use Notice below.
A reference for all 14 components
The guide includes MapCortex, Flow Diagram, ECharts, ECharts 3D, Calendar, Zoom & Pan, Rich Text Editor, Cascader, horizontal and vertical Range Sliders, DateTime Range Picker, TimePicker, Color Picker, and OdoMeter.
It documents 28 Map methods, 13 shared delegate methods with a component support matrix, 3 View helper functions, and 83 declared events. Full property and event schemas are included alongside examples, persistence guidance, and known integration limitations.
The horizontal and vertical sliders are documented separately; the product overview groups them as one component family.
Use it in three steps
- Download, unzip, and attach. Extract vCortex-AI-Guide.md from the ZIP and attach it to your AI conversation or add it to the tool’s project knowledge.
- Describe your project. Provide your exact Ignition version, installed vCortex build, target View path, sample data, and the result you want.
- Apply and test. Review the generated configuration and scripts, then test the View and its interactions in Perspective.
For focused tasks, ask the AI to read the relevant component section and schema. Applying changes automatically depends on the project tools and access available to your assistant.
Start with a concrete request
Read the attached vCortex-AI-Guide.md. Use the exact component IDs, properties, events, and supported methods for my installed version.
Create a Perspective View showing equipment connections with Flow Diagram. Clicking a node should open my existing equipment detail View. List the required View parameters and provide the configuration and event scripts. Identify missing dependencies and explain what needs testing.
Include: Ignition version, vCortex installed build, project name, target View path, detail View path, and a small equipment/connection data sample.
Compatibility and verification
This revision is based on the inspected Ignition 8.3 source tree, vCortex base version 1.14.61. Check your installed module build before relying on a feature. Compatibility with older builds or the Ignition 8.1 edition must be verified separately.
Component contracts and example structure have been checked against source. Jython and embedded JavaScript examples were syntax checked. End-to-end Gateway and Perspective behavior still requires testing in your environment.
The guide supplies product knowledge. A working AI-to-Ignition connection depends on the tools, permissions, and access in your environment.
